Privacy Policy for Nepali Patro (com.nepalicalendar)
Effective Date: April 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nepali Patro ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you use our mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your experience with our App is secure.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Our App is designed to minimize the collection of personal information. We do not require you to create an account or provide any identifying personal information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use the core features of the App.
However, to provide our comprehensive services and maintain app functionality, we and our trusted third-party partners may collect certain types of non-personal information:
A. Device and Usage Data
When you access the App, we automatically collect certain data to improve our services and analyze app performance. This data includes:
- Device type, model, and manufacturer
- Operating system version
- Unique device identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID)
- Network state (e.g., Wi-Fi or Cellular data status)
- App crash reports and performance diagnostics
B. Permissions Requested by the App
To enable specific features, the App requests access to certain device capabilities. The App only accesses this data when you explicitly grant permission:
- Internet & Network Access: Required to fetch real-time data such as News, Foreign Exchange rates, Gold/Silver rates, Weather, Share Market updates, and to stream FM Radio and Bhagavad Gita videos.
- Foreground Service & Media Playback: Required to allow you to seamlessly listen to FM Radio and Hindu Mantras in the background while using other apps.
- Notifications: Requested to send you daily Panchang, Tithi, festival alerts, and important news updates via OneSignal.
2. How We Use Your Information
Any information collected is used strictly for the following purposes:
- To Provide Core Features: Delivering live news, real-time rates, and calendar updates.
- To Serve Advertisements: We use third-party ad networks (Google AdMob) which may use your Google Advertising ID to serve relevant, personalized, or non-personalized ads.
- To Send Push Notifications: To alert you of daily events, horoscopes, and breaking news.
- App Improvement: To analyze app performance, fix crashes, and provide a better user experience.
3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to any third parties.
However, we integrate trusted third-party services that may collect information used to identify you to provide their respective services. These third parties have their own Privacy Policies. We strongly recommend reviewing them:
- Google AdMob & Google Play Services: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob uses the Google Advertising ID to provide tailored ads. Google Privacy Policy
- OneSignal: We use OneSignal to deliver push notifications. OneSignal stores device tokens to send these alerts efficiently. OneSignal Privacy Policy
- YouTube Services: The Bhagavad Gita video feature utilizes the YouTube player. By using this feature, you agree to comply with YouTube’s terms of service and privacy rules. YouTube Privacy Policy
4. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard the limited data we collect. Our app communicates with internet servers using secure, encrypted protocols (HTTPS/SSL). Since your camera data (for the Recharge Scanner) and local preferences are kept entirely on your device, they remain secure under your device’s own protection boundaries.
5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Google Play Families Policy.
Our App does not intentionally target or knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do the necessary actions.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Revoking Permissions: You can revoke Camera and Notification permissions at any time by navigating to your device's Settings > Apps > Nepali Patro > Permissions.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may routinely update our Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our app features or legal requirements set by the Google Play Console. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
